More Gifts for Gardeners

My first gardening gift guide was pretty well-received, so I thought I'd share a few more garden tools and products that I love. Many of these items would be appreciated by homesteaders, farmers and other folks who spend time outdoors, working with their hands.

There are many brands on the market, my family really likes these. I find that most products that are sweetened with stevia are waaay too sweet, so I double the amount of water to electrolyte powder.

I try to always have a set of pruner in my back pocket whenever I'm out in the garden. There's always something that needs clipped. Bonus is that since these are bright orange (a color I generally abhor) I can spot them when I've set them down instead of returning to my pocket.

Just like there's always something that needs to be pruned, there's usually something that needs to be tied up, whether it's a tomato plant or a climbing rose. This tape works very well, stretches so it won't harm the stem, and tears by hand instead of needing scissors.

This thing is a knee- and back-saver. It puts your hands closer to the ground and allows you to move easily from one plant to the next.

Like the pruners, this trowel is sturdy, and bright orange so you can find it under the plants when you forget to pick it up.

This thing makes it easy to precisely keep track of the rainfall in your garden so you can know when watering is necessary.

These brightly-colored labels help you identify your plants, and (hopefully) avoid hitting them with a mower or string trimmer.

These gloves protect your hands from minor scratches and improve your grip, while still allowing some dexterity and letting your hands breathe.

Sturdy and reusable beats cheap and flimsy every time.

These little gadgets help with placing small seeds where you want them, and transplanting seedlings.

Some seeds, like tomatoes and peppers, require a little extra warmth in order to germinate. If you can't put seed starting trays on top of your refrigerator, these are a nice option.

While I don't like ice-cold water when I'm working outside, I do prefer cool water. An insulated water bottle does a decent job of keeping your water cold, even when it's in direct sunlight.

I find most exfoliating soaps and scrubs, whether for hands, body or face, to be too harsh. This one is fairly gentle, and it's the best face scrub I've ever used. It does a nice job with hands that have spent too much time in the dirt too.

I hope these tools for gardeners have sparked some ideas for you!
